Binary, non-binary, gender fluid, heteronormativity, gender normativity, polyamorous…. the vocabulary associated with sexuality and gender is growing throughout society and can be challenging to understand! During this free two-hour workshop, we will explore how to increase awareness of the diverse sexualities and genders in our communities.
Are you living on the spectrum or stuck in the binary? Check out this workshop where we will discuss and learn more about operating on a spectrum rather than a binary.
No matter how you identify, this workshop is designed to be a safe space to explore and grow awareness of diverse sexuality and genders to ensure all can contribute to making our campus a more inclusive environment.
This workshop is brought to you by The Rainbow and Ally Network. If you would like to be part of the fun Rainbow Ally Network who meet each month, please get in contact ally@unitec.ac.nz.
Thanks to all that participated in the Pink Shirt Day Bake Sale!
On Friday 17 May, National Pink Shirt day, we fought bullying with a cake! Baked goods were donated and sold for a gold coin donation. Our goals were to raise awareness around bullying and help create a community at Unitec where everyone feels safe to bring their whole selves to campus every day.
A huge thanks to everyone that made it happen and all the kaimahi and ākonga who supported us by purchasing baking. The proceeds have gone to the Rainbow Ally network who require much needed funds to run LGBTQI+ events and education sessions.
