What’s new with The Mind Lab?

Our partner The Mind Lab by Unitec has moved into the neighbourhood!  From this month they’ll be running their school holiday and school groups programmes from a new, purpose-built facility at MOTAT’s Western Springs premises. The Tech Toolbox programme for parents, grandparents and early childhood teachers, is also relocating and don’t forget, we all get a 25% discount off the price of that. And if you’re thinking about booking your children or grandchildren into a Mind Lab school holiday programme later this month, there’s a discount for Unitec staff there as well.*

As a partner, we also get access to The Mind Lab’s new education platform – the Digital Passport – for free.  Launched in March, the platform empowers teachers and parents with children of years 1-10 to understand and apply the new digital technologies curriculum laid out by the Ministry of Education. The platform focuses on unbundling Computational Thinking, and Designing and Developing Digital Outcomes and aims to enable education in New Zealand to evolve to fit with our 21st century world. Their partnership with Unitec ensures all tertiary level programmes are accredited and all participants are able to complete their study with a recognised qualification.

The same thing applies to Mind Lab’s sister company, Tech Futures Lab, which offers a Unitec-accredited year-long applied Master’s programme, as well as full day and half day workshops.
