Understanding more about the EER process

More than 300 staff members have attended workshops over the past few months to help get ready for this month’s Internal Evaluative Review (IER) and November’s External Evaluation and Review (EER). There’s a range of opportunities for teams to learn more about the self-evaluation process and develop understanding of key areas that the NZQA will be interested in.

Workshops include:

EER 101

These workshops are designed to take teams through the key components of the EER process and help them understand how the key evaluation questions that the NZQA will be asking relate to them. These workshops are relevant to both academic and non-academic teams so please contact Julie Hall if you’d like to arrange one for your next team meeting. From next week, you’ll also be able to register via the ‘What’s on’ section of the Nest.

IER prep

The 12 teams involved in this month’s IER have been attending workshops to explain the IER process in more detail and to provide some practice. A similar process will be followed in October for the teams that will be involved in the EER.

Poutama workshops

This is a self-assessment tool that focuses on engagement with Māori students and Māori communities. There are also Te Rito courses available for team professional development. Please contact Mirela Szekely to book any of these.

Pacific workshops

The Pacific team is also supporting professional development at the Pathway level with a series of workshops: Understanding the Pacific, The Pacific tertiary student and Pacific Research. If you’d like to find out more, please get in touch with Falaniko Tominiko.
