Three of our Pacific International Students were recently honoured at a special ceremony at the MFAT (Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade) office in Auckland, where they were selected as recipients of the MFAT & PCF (Pacific Cooperation Foundation) Internship programme for 2018. The students are:
- Tiueti Fangupo from Tonga. Tiueti is currently studying a BEngTech and will be doing her internship with the Pacific Centre for Renewable Energy & Energy Efficiency (PCREEE).
- Lania Tenahua from Solomon Islands, who is currently studying a BEngTech (Civil) and will be doing her internship with Auckland Council.
- Esmond Siope from Solomon Islands. Esmond is currently studying BCompSystems and will be doing his internship at Datacom.
Unitec was the only ITP to put forward successful applicants – the other six recipients were students from universities. This is a great reflection of the amazing support offered by our Pacific Centre.
Niko Tominiko, Director – Pacific Success attended the ceremony with the students, and recognised Sophie Martin-Welsh’s great work in supporting our Pacific International Students.
