About Us

The Library’s mission is to provide knowledge creation activities for Unitec’s communities by delivering superb services, resources, spaces and places.

We are passionate about supporting your teaching and research, and providing guidance so you can make the most of the resources we provide.

What we do – Our key responsibilities

  • Manage Unitec’s library and learning commons spaces – physical and virtual
  • Play a lead role in staffing and managing the Mt Albert Hub Commons
  • Provide library and information services, as well as student study spaces and facilities, eg group study rooms, computers etc.
  • Enable access to scholarly information resources, including print books and other physical items, electronic books/journals and subscription databases – see more about our collection
  • Ensure compliance with Database licenses including copyright
  • Lead information literacy training & development
  • Manage Unitec’s research on the open research repository Research Bank
  • Liaise with academic staff to ensure required resources are available for all programmes, and prepare resource statements for proposed programmes.

Our people

The Library Manager leads a dedicated group of librarians with excellent professional, academic and often technical skills, and wide-ranging experience relevant to the Unitec environment.
