Library and Information and Resources
The services offered by these two teams are as follows:
Library and Information Team
- Lending books, journals, dvds (including Short Loan collections for high demand texts)
- Helping students, teachers and researchers access the library resources they need for their study, teaching or research
- Helping with student queries and connecting students to support
- Considering and responding to student feedback related to library services and collections
- Undertaking annual stocktakes
- Maintaining library collections on the shelves and in storage
- Providing library tours or presentations to new students as required, in partnership with Subject Librarians
Resources Team
- Provide print and electronic library resources to support learning teaching and research, including:
- budget planning and management,
- purchasing,
- cataloguing,
- activating and processing resources,
- negotiating and renewing license agreements,
- providing online guidance to staff about copyright and license compliance
- Library collection management in partnership with Subject Librarians
- Providing access to previous exam papers
- Archiving Unitec exam papers
- Provide online services and systems administration including:
- Library website,
- LibrarySearch (including catalogue),
- Library Management System,
- Databases and eJournals A-Z,
- Research Bank,
- Study room bookings system,
- Appointment bookings system,
- Intranet editing
- Stocktake management and analysis.
- Support data analysis and insights across Student Success
- Provide support for other short-term projects (such as ID cards printing)
Subject Librarians
The Subject Librarians are a team whose focus is information literacy, academic liaison, resource selection and research support.
