Workshops to support you through the redeployment and recruitment process

A message from Te Pūkenga People, Culture and Wellbeing (PCW) team:

We’re conducting a series of online workshops designed to support our kaimahi through the redeployment and recruitment process for Tāraia te anamata | Creating our futures. We have expanded the workshop schedule and you can find all the information on Te Whare. It’s important you register as the numbers are limited to allow the sessions to be interactive.

These workshops aim to empower our kaimahi to connect with the opportunities available and to support them during the application and interview process.

Here’s a brief overview of the workshops:

Workshop One | Preparing Your Application

This session will cover the application process, guiding kaimahi on how to create a strong CV and cover letter. It will emphasise the importance of representing themselves authentically and showcasing their strengths, skills, values, and experience.

Workshop Two | Getting Interview Ready

This workshop offers insights into the interview process, including different types of interview questions. Participants will learn how to introduce themselves effectively and prepare for questions related to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and equity.

Workshops for kaimahi Māori and Pacific staff

In addition, we are offering specialised Recruitment Support Workshops tailored for our kaimahi Māori. These sessions will explore CV and cover letter writing and interview preparation from a te ao Māori perspective. They will also provide guidance on highlighting Māori cultural and leadership strengths and incorporating lived experiences throughout the recruitment process. The importance of leveraging whānau support during interviews will also be discussed.

We are working to organise similar sessions to support our Pacific staff, so stay tuned for more details. Note that these workshops are specifically designed to help kaimahi Māori and Pacific staff showcase their unique perspectives in their applications. They do not cover Te Tiriti o Waitangi or how to respond to Te Tiriti or equity-related questions.
