Whānau-Fanau evenings *cancelled*

Update: This event has been cancelled due to COVID Level 3 lockdown (as at 12 August 2020)

The team will consider what steps they will take to reach out to our Māori and Pacific students in place of this event. Keep a watch on the Nest for more info on the next few weeks.

Next week our  Māori and Pacific Whānau-Fanau evenings will be held at both campuses.

The evenings are an opportunity for teaching and support staff to meet our Māori and Pacific learners and their family members, as part of Unitec’s strategy to set up Māori and Pacific learners and their whānau / fanau for success. Student support teams will be available to share the different ways that they can assist learners, and lecturers are on hand to talk about course content and what to expect while studying here.

All staff are welcome attend alongside our Heads of Schools and Māori and Pacific Schools Champions, who will all be attending. If you’d like to attend, please email askpacific@unitec.ac.nz.

Whānau-Fanau Evening Programme

The evenings will include a welcome and karakia, followed by a kōrero by a member of the ELT. Soem of our recent graduates and current students will share their experiences through a panel chat, then guests will then be given tours of the campus services. The evenings will be concluded with refreshments and informal kōrero.
