The engine running the Unitec.ac.nz website is being swapped over on Tuesday, 18 November 2025, around 8am.
Why
The current engine (Drupal) is end-of-support and a security risk.
The website is being moved “like for like” onto a new engine (WordPress) with no changes to templates/look and feel.
(No) impact for users
Planning is targeting no impact for end users. The website should look and operate the same way after the switch.
There are some minor changes to a small number of pages, as some of the very old, ineffective features have not been rebuilt.
What’s next
The website will be closely monitored for performance & availability by the digital team after the switchover.
