Special Covid-19 leave provisions
If you are a permanent or fixed term employee and you can’t do your job due to Covid-19, either because you are unwell or need to isolate and cannot work from home, we want to provide you with consistent leave provisions.
In general, these provisions will be as per the TEU Academic Staff Collective Employment Agreement; that employees can take up to 20 days’ Covid-19 special leave which won’t be debited from existing sick leave.
To access this leave provision, you must be able to verify with proof (your notification from the Public Health Service) that you have either tested positive for Covid-19 or that you are a close contact and are isolating. As usual, this special leave will be approved by your manager. In the instance of positive Covid-19 cases, the Health and Safety team must also be notified.
Please ensure you read the guidelines in full as there are other important details to note before applying for this leave.
