As we get ready for the opening of City Rail Link in 2026, a complete upgrade of Auckland’s rail network (the Rail Network Rebuild) is required. This work involves replacing aging foundations under the tracks, which are slowing down our trains and reducing their reliability.
Trains will not run from Friday 30 May – Monday 02 June across the entire network to carry out this work.
During the rail closure, buses will replace trains.
Trains will return from Tuesday 03 June 2025.
