New Power BI dashboard: Non-completion reporting

Te Korowai Kuhrangi has published a Non-Completion Dashboard, available on Power BI, which profiles student non-completions in Unitec for the TEC reporting years of 2015-2019.

The non-completion dashboard aims to:

  • Provide better understanding of non-completions in Unitec
  • Summarise and analyse the demographic and enrolment characteristics of students who did not complete their qualifications at the Institute, School, Programme and Priority Group levels

Coverage and data sources

The report uses data submitted to TEC for the reporting years of 2015-2019 and the demographic data from PeopleSoft. Non-completions are profiled and defined using the TEC criteria (available from the first page of the dashboard). The features and measures included in the profiling are:

  • Priority Group status (Māori, Pacific, International, Under 25’s)
  • Age group
  • Qualification level
  • Gender
  • Study mode (Full/Part time status)
  • Prior activity (before joining Unitec)
  • Previous secondary school
  • Ethnicity
  • Number of Credits enrolled, passed, failed and not completed
  • Number of courses enrolled
  • Number of active years (number of years enrolled)
  • Current enrolment status

Reporting

An analytical summary report at the institute level is available and linked from the first page of the report to demonstrate how to understand and interpret the data and graphs.
