Just dropping by with some exciting news! We’re thrilled to share that we’re gearing up to launch our brand-new micro-credentials “Karawhuia te reo!”— a series of three exciting Level 5 reo Māori micro-credentials tailored for our kaimahi across the Network. This program is designed for those eager to deepen their fluency in te reo Māori and confidently navigate tikanga Māori spaces.
Right now, we’re on the lookout for expressions of interest from kaimahi ready to embark on this enriching journey. Please send the detail below out to all your kaimahi contacts who you think might be interested in enrolling.
Here’s what you can expect from the programme:
Programme aim:
Our goal is to fast-track your proficiency and fluency in reo Māori through:
- Full immersion delivery (rumaki reo)
- Practical application of te reo Māori beyond the classroom
- Tailoring courses to your workplace context—whether in vocational education, as an educational practitioner, or within specific teaching areas.
Entry requirements:
Academic entry is open to all kaimahi currently employed by Te Pūkenga who either:
- Hold a Level 4 or higher qualification in te reo Māori, or
- Can demonstrate their ability to meet the reo Māori entry criteria through lived experience.
Programme information:
We’re aiming to kick off on 29 April 2024, pending NZQA approval. Our micro-credentials offer a blend of learning modes, including online classes, wānanga (workshops), noho marae (marae stays), and self-directed learning.
