The 2023 works to upgrade Farm Road, which connects the Unitec campus to Carrington Road at Gate 3, will be largely completed this week. The road will be open for Unitec traffic, cyclists and pedestrians on and from 19 February 2024.
Some minor finishing works are expected to continue for another few weeks, but they will not close the road. Please respect workers as they get these last tasks done. Note, that although the road will be open for traffic, it is not a public road. It will only become a public road when the upgrades to the Spine Road, which will reinstate the connections between Gates 1, 2 and 3,on are complete. In the meantime, Gate 2 is also re-opening, but for Mason Clinic traffic only. There will be no access to the Unitec campus from Gate 2 or Gate 1. Traffic management, including barriers, will be in place to enforce this closure.
Reminder: Parking charges resume on 26 February!
South Carpark
The south carpark is now closed for development. However, four new parking areas will also be available to Unitec:
- 65 spaces next to the old sports centre B174N
- 35 spaces Vets Carpark – access off Carrington Road.
- 15 spaces East Carpark (Outside Penman House- access off Carrington Road)
- 35 spaces on Spine Road. Access through Gate 2.
