Jacky McManus – DCE People and Culture recently confirmed the Christmas shutdown period.
Our holiday shutdown dates for the end of the year will be:
- Last day of work: Friday 17 December 2021
- Unitec opens again: Monday 10 January 2022
This closedown period will utilise 11 annual leave days for permanent full time staff. As with recent years, these dates will apply to all staff unless there is an essential business reason for you to be working. The three-week shutdown allows you all to have sufficient rest and relaxation after another busy year. Our leave balances and associated cost have been creeping up, given staff have not had the opportunity to take holidays as they may have planned (largely due to COVID).
If you want to discuss your leave plans, please liaise with your manager in the first instance.
To predict what your leave balance will be at the end of the year, use the ‘leave balance’ tool in Peoplesoft. This tool helps to plan your leave.
the academic calendar on unitec website says summer school break starts 27 Dec 2021
seems like a typo
also the break in Dec 2022 – is stated as 24 Dec – also looks wrong
