Please note the following changes to carparking at the Mt Albert campus, designed to improve parking experiences for our kaimahi and ākonga on campus.
- Paid parking resumes at Mt Albert campus on first day of Semester 1
Parking is paid during semester times between the hours of 8am and 4pm. Semester 1 starts on Monday 24 February.
- Limited free parking now available near Gate 3 entrance
There is now limited free parking available at the old site of the Veterinary Clinic on the right-hand side as you enter through Gate 3. This is offered on a first-in, first-served basis to all staff and students. This is not a Unitec-owned car park, but the owner has made it available until works commence on the site.
- New automatic number plate recognition camera system
Following feedback from the Student NPS and Your Whakaaro survey, a new camera system will be introduced from Semester 1 to assist with parking compliance monitoring.
At the Mt Albert campus, as long as you have paid for your parking before you exit the campus that day, you will be compliant. You no longer need to pay immediately upon parking, although this remains the recommended approach.
It is expected the system will help reduce the small amount of non-compliant parking issues and improve staff and student parking experiences on campus.
- Parking restrictions behind the barrier arm (B108)
Parking behind the barrier arm around B108 is now restricted to contractor/service vehicle parking.
If you require access to mobility parking beyond the barrier arm, please contact carparking@unitec.ac.nz as exemptions for this area can be granted to those with valid documentation and Senior Executive approval.
Vehicles parked in non-designated areas will be monitored and subject to enforcement.
- Parking at Waitākere campus
There are no changes to parking regulations at the Waitākere campus.
