Call for Complaint Investigators

Kia ora Unitec whānau,

Call for complaints and grade reconsideration investigators.

We are hoping to form a pool of 2024 investigators for our Student Complaints process, that now includes grade reconsideration requests. This is an opportunity to expand your skills and take part in an important service that helps provide resolution and outcomes to students and often requires a third impartial party to investigate complaints on behalf of Heads or Schools, Managers and Directors. You may be called upon three to four times throughout the 2024 year, depending on demands and we will always check in around workload prior.

The investigator role will come with training and continued support from TKK and Student Success, who administer and support the complaints and grade reconsideration process. This is a great development opportunity for your 2024 ADEP.

Some key skills we are looking for in our investigators:
– Confidentiality
– Ability to remain impartial
– Proactive in supporting and following the process of investigation
– Timely – can adhere to timelines as set out by procedure
– Good record keeping and communication skills

We are also looking for Senior academics to investigate grade reconsideration requests from outside their School.

Training workshop will take place on Monday 22 April from 10 -12pm in person at Mt Albert Campus.

Would you be interested in being part of the voluntary investigator pool? If so, please discuss with your line manager and then complete the below EOI by Wednesday 17 April. Sue Crossan and Monique Bell are also happy to answer any questions you may have, so please feel free to reach out.
