There is so much to do here at Unitec! Below are just some of the opportunities to network across the organisation and make most of your time at work.

 

The wellness initiatives 

  • featuring fun, affordable activities and events, an opportunity to take a little time out, meet each other and take care of our physical and mental health
  • majority of these initiatives are run by staff for staff, so if you or any of your team have something they would like to share, please get in touch. The Wellbeing and Safety team is here to support you.

Learn about Mental Health

  • As part of our goal to grow a support community for wellbeing, we want to develop the capability of staff in mental health, a topic increasingly important for all to understand.  We have team activities, webinars and workshops, email safety@unitec.ac.nz to find out more.

Groups to join

Our very own Puukenga

  • Space for all staff and students, all are welcome here. Nau mai, Haere mai! This whare operates under a kaupapa Māori korowai and is situated next to the wharekai Manaaki. 
  • You are welcome to have your lunch there, make yourself a cup of tea, or play the guitars in the atrium.  You can also hang out by the puna, sit on a log next to the Pa Harakeke or simply just take some time to sit and reflect by Ngakau Mahaki our wharenui.
