What is PeopleSoft?
PeopleSoft is Unitec’s Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system; an integrated suite of applications to assist in the day-to-day execution and operation of business processes.
The central feature of all ERP systems is a shared database that supports multiple functions used by different business units. In practice, this means that employees in different business units can rely on the same information for their specific needs and therefore enables Unitec as a whole to make better decisions, faster.
The PeopleSoft applications at Unitec are outlined below.
Human Capital Management (HCM)
This comprises of functions revolving around HR policies and reporting. The HCM component also features workforce management, which handles the scheduling of labour, tracking of time and absences, labour forecasting for workload demands, and adherence to labour laws and pay rules.
PeopleSoft HCM additionally provides personalized HR self-service for employees, called Staff Self Service at Unitec. This allows for staff to Apply for Leave, View Pay details, change Contact details, etc.
Customer Relationship Management (CRM)
The CRM solution is designed to help manage customer data and customer interactions.
Campus Solutions (CS)
Used to manage and track information regarding student administration, e.g. course enrolment, course planning and scheduling.
Financial Management Solutions (FMS)
FMS includes procurement processing, asset lifecycle management, financial control and reporting, financial analysis, governance, risk and compliance functions, travel and expense management, treasury management and additional applications for financial-services and public-sector organizations.
How to get PeopleSoft Access?
If your new staff member requires access to PeopleSoft Purchasing you can do so via IT Self Service > All Categories > Application Administration > PeopleSoft Purchase Access Request.
