Samoa Language Week activities (wear blue on Monday!)

Talofa Lava

The theme for Samoa Language Week 2021 is  “Poupou le lotoifale. Ola manuia le anofale”– “Strengthen the middle posts of the house, in order for the rest of the house to stand strong.”

Metaphorically speaking, when a person or a family’s foundations is strong, then everything around them remains strong. This proverb is particularly relevant in the world we now find ourselves in. For the last two years, the whole world has been impacted by Covid-19 and we find ourselves in unsure times. It is important now to be united in our fight against the virus and as long as we all play our part to keep ourselves and others safe, we will ensure that as a nation, we will be strong and we will conquer Covid-19!

This week we aim to unite our Unitec ‘āiga (family) though a number of activities not only to celebrate Samoa Language Week, but also to keep our spirits high.
