The headlines are:
- The southern carpark on our Mt Albert Wairaka campus (the free parking by the bus stop near B111) will close from 16 October 2023. The last day we’ll have use of it will be Friday 13 October.
- A newly-opened carpark at B60-61 will assist with demand until at least the end of 2023 (where the Osteo clinic used to be, via Gate 4)
- From 16 October all parking will paid parking at Mt Albert from Monday to Friday, 8am to 4pm for all staff and students. However, payment is not required during Unitec Semester breaks or in the weekends.
- You can use any parking meter to pay for your parking, not just the one closest to your carpark.
- There will still be almost 1,000 carparks available.
- Some parking areas are underutilised, so are worth exploring if you usually park in the southern carpark. These are: The gravel park by B048, the gravel parking at Mataaho, and both sides of the Gate 4 entry
The below shows the southern carpark at the bottom, plus all other parking areas. It is currently correct but, with the development work continuing, we’ll regularly update it and share it on our website.
Click here for a larger version of the map. It will also be shared on our website from 16 October.
B60-61 is where the Osteopathy buildings use to be. Entry via Gate 4, on the left. It does not show on the map.
The parking options coming in from Gate 1 are certainly a possiblility but the number of potholes on the road around from Gate 1 makes it an “interesting” journey.
