The passion and dedication of everyone involved in Open Day 2023 provided a spectacular atmosphere while showcasing the amazing opportunities available at Unitec on Saturday.
Hundreds of manuhiri (visitors) flocked to our Mt Albert and Waitākere campuses to find out more about what we have to offer.
Both campuses were buzzing with excitement and almost 500 people participated and took the opportunity to visit our campuses and speak with our teams.
Open Day organiser and Events Business Partner, Romy Sunny says the aroha and dedication of everyone involved is what made Open Day a success.
“The entire whānau really invested a lot of time and energy into the kaupapa and our schools developed some really creative engagement activities that sparked a lot of interest and encouraged participation from our manuhiri.”
Many teams took the opportunity to involve our talented learners in the action at Open Day which provided extremely valuable practical experience while demonstrating they are a valuable members of our whānau.
Bachelor of Business interns Rudee Kotcho and Leila Waru (Te Rarawa) worked alongside the Events and Marketing team on the day to compile some fantastic promotional content which featured on our social media platforms.

People who attended the event not only got to see the spectacular programmes we have to offer, they also got to experience Te Noho Kotahitanga in action.
“Our whānau live and breathe Te Noho Kotahitanga and this was really clear across all the teams involved, we don’t just talk about it, we are all about it” says Romy.
Manaakitanga and an ongoing commitment to mahi kotahitanga and ngākau māhaki demonstrated the rangatiratanga of our whānau as a whole.
