It’s that time of year when we recognise and celebrate the amazing work that our people have contributed to Unitec. Our ELT launched the nomination period on Tuesday 13 October and it closes on Tuesday 3 November.
Nominating is easy! Just 10 minutes and 300 words on the online form is all it takes. There’s a category to suit every individual and team, so take a look at the nomination form and start submitting your nominations.

- Excellence in support
An individual in a support role who has consistently stood out; who supports our staff with systems and processes; supports teachers to deliver education to our students; directly supports students in their journey at Unitec. - Contribution and Collaboration Award
An individual or team that has made a significant contribution to the community and/or has demonstrated excellence in collaboration. - Innovation and Enterprise Award
An individual or team that has demonstrated innovation and/or enterprise. All staff eligible. - Te Noho Kotahitanga Team Award
A team that has demonstrated excellence and has lived our values throughout the year. All teams eligible. - Unitec Champion Award
An individual who has demonstrated all-round excellence and contribution. All staff eligible.
Teaching and research:
- Excellence in Teaching
An experienced teacher or teaching team, who has demonstrated excellence in their teaching for over five years. - Excellence in Teaching – Kaupapa Māori
A teacher or teaching team that has demonstrated excellence in tertiary teaching in a Kaupapa Māori context, for over five years. - Excellence in Teaching – Supporting Pacific Learners
A teacher or teaching team who has supported Pacific learners to succeed. - Excellence in Early Career Teaching
An individual teacher who has been teaching for up to five years, who has demonstrated excellence in their teaching. - Excellence in Research
An experienced or early career researcher or research team, who has demonstrated excellence in their research for over 5 years.
