A survey on Government proposals for reforming Vocational Education and Training in Aotearoa New Zealand was shared with kaimahi at MIT and Unitec on 27 August.
The intention of Senior Leadership Team was to provide kaimahi with an opportunity to express their views on the proposed reforms anonymously and for a summary of the survey results to be submitted to the consultation process.
We received 236 responses to the survey (MIT and Unitec have 1,225 Full Time Equivalent employees).
The below survey summary document was submitted to the consultation.
In order to ensure kaimahi views were conveyed as transparently as possible, the qualitative responses are presented rather than summarised. Where comments duplicated others elsewhere they have been omitted. Some edits have been made that do not alter the substance of the response, where this was necessary to remove identifying information or maintain our values. Every effort has been made to ensure that the edits do not change the substance of the comment. Responses have been thematically grouped for ease of reading.
