Mental Health Awareness Week, 27 Sept – 2 Oct: Heaps of Unitec events

Mental Health Awareness Week (26 September – 2 October) is happening across Aotearoa. After two years of change, isolation and disconnection, the theme is “Reconnect – with the people and places that lift you up.”

Whether it be reaching out to someone you have lost contact with, or doing something that used to bring you joy, use this years Mental Health Awareness Week to reconnect to what makes you feel good.

Events at Unitec

Unitec is celebrating the week with various events that are targeting at wellbeing of staff and students, including pilates, mental health workshops, counsellor drop in session, waiata and even a therapy dog!

The events are open to everyone, as a practical way to reconnect. Take a break from your laptop and get involved in doing something that makes you feel good.

  • To book for pilates, yoga and the pool tournament, email connect@unitec.ac.nz
  • To book for the Hauora Maori: Manaaki Ora workshop, use this booking form. This Wānanga will enable Kōrero about Hauora Māori as a holistic approach to Wellbeing. It will include taha whānau, taha wairua, taha hinengaro, connection to Te Taiao (the environment).
