Meet your colleagues over karaoke this Thursday

Investing in our relationships is one way to make it through these times.

Relationships help us to share our challenges, see a path forward, provide empathy and remind us we are not alone.

One of the many great things about being part of Unitec whānau is that there are so many ways to connect with others! Joining Social Club is one such opportunity.

This week, Thursday 25 August, everyone is welcome to join us for Karaoke, a fun night of singing and dining.

RSVP by Wednesday evening

The Social Club was devised for those of us who would like to get to know our colleagues across the organisation better. Currently, we have members that come from 14 different teams across Unitec.

We run monthly events, sometimes with family/kids, sometimes without. The events usually cover the categories of culture, fun challenges and of course – the end-of-year knees up, with drinks and food galore.

Everyone is welcome – members of course get to show up to the events for free, as they’ve already pre-paid for them, but other staff members who just want to check us out and casually commit can come along for a one-off fee. To find out more, please get in touch with the Social Club committee (mail: unitecsocialclub@unitec.ac.nz)

In May, we brought back an old-time favourite – The Taste test. Deep inside we all think we know our beers, wines, and cheeses and this was the opportunity to test different kinds of each. The test included other taste intriguing concoctions like soda drinks and peanut butter. And for the proud kiwis – for bonus points, different brands of Marmite and Pineapple Lumps were circulated around the party.

In June, we celebrated Mid-Winter off campus. Good Home pub in Kingsland provided us with delicious meal, great music, festive fun and spot prizes. Ugly Christmas sweaters most of us wore, was that sweet cherry on top.

In July, we got together for a movie night AND roast dinner, at an independent cinema in Avondale.

Come along and try out an event and socialise with your colleagues 🙂
