The Māori Electoral Option 2018

The Māori Electoral Option is a chance for anyone who is of Māori descent and who is enrolled to vote to choose which electoral roll they want to be on – the General roll or the Māori roll.

This affects who you get to choose from to represent you in Parliament. It also helps to set the number of Māori and General electorates and the electorate boundaries for the next two elections.

The option is open until Thursday 2 August 2018. If you’re enrolled to vote and you indicated you are of Māori descent when you enrolled, you should have received a Māori Electoral Option pack in the mail.

For more information, and to request a pack, please visit the Elections website.
