MAI ki Wairaka network offers integral support to Māori and Indigenous post-graduate students

MAI ki Wairaka is a vital support network dedicated to maintaining the manaakitanga of our Māori and Indigenous post-graduate students at Unitec and within Tāmaki Makaurau.

Hosted by Ngā Wai A Te Tūī this programme provides a portal to a national network of MAI sites within Te Pae Whakatairanga Hiranga, the Capability Building programme of Ngā Pae o te Māramatanga (NPM).

Ngā Wai A Te Tūī are fierce advocates of kaupapa Māori research and reclaiming Mātauranga Māori and they are proud to support MAI ki Wairaka and continue paving pathways forward for Māori in tertiary education.

This kaupapa will empower our students and utilise research to advance the aspirations and goals of whānau, hapū, iwi, marae, and communities.

MAI ki Wairaka offers a unique support network for Māori and Indigenous post-graduate students here at Te Whare Wānanga o Wairaka and would like to encourage further understanding and promote this initiative with our wider whānau.
