Tamarangi Nightingale-Pene will run Te Reo Māori classes for staff
Staff Te Reo Māori classes are starting Tuesday 27 July, 1pm! A 10-week, free introductory course.

Please note that by registering you are agreeing to take part in the full 10-week course.
You will learn:
- The foundation of Te Reo and a focus on pronunciation and simple phrases.
- How to develop a basic mihimihi (acknowledgements) structure.
- Basic sentence structures and the addition of whakataukī (proverbs) and kīwaha (colloquial sayings).
Tama Pene will facilitate the classes. Nō Waikato-Tainui, otirā nō Hauā-Werewere. Tama has a background teaching Te Reo at Unitec Kura Pō (night classes) for seven years and has recently stepped into the Kura Pō Co-ordinator role.

When: Tuesdays from 27 July 2021, 1 – 2pm.
Where: via Zoom (reoccurring Zoom link will be sent once registered) OR in Puukenga B171 – 1003, for those who would like to come down and learn with others (this might be face-to-face teaching or viewing the Zoom livestream)
The classes are free, but by registering, you are agreeing to take part in the full 10-week course.

this term the focus will be on beginners level, 1-2. But, we will move into more intermediate levels in Term 4. Hopefully, those wanting intermediate levels will be able to join the class in Term 4.

Can we please have a class on Fridays at lunch. Practicing speaking Maori would be great as I don’t get a chance to do that and my confidence to speak this wonderful language is going backwards. Cheers Martin
