Lunar New Year celebrations on campus, 29 – 30 Jan

Lunar New Year is upon us, and celebrations start tomorrow at the Mt Albert and Waitākere campuses.

The Student Success team are celebrating the Year of the Snake with an event rich in tradition, culture and mouthwatering food on Wed 29 Jan at Mt Albert campus, from 12pm to 1pm, Level 1, Te Puna and at the Waitākere Campus on Thurs 30 Jan from 12pm to 1pm at Level 1, B510.

All kaimahi and ākonga are invited to try traditional Chinese snacks, experience Chinese Calligraphy, learn to write some Chinese characters that signify ‘good fortune,’ at the Mt Albert campus, and get a chance to play the Red Envelope Ring Toss Game and win a gift.

If you were born in 1953, 1965, 1977, 1989, 2001or 2013, this is your year.

The Chinese zodiac year typically commences with Chinese New Year, which spans from late January to mid-February. If you were born in January or February in any of the above years, you might just be a Snake or a Dragon.
