Happy New Year of the Tiger!

Join us for a virtual Chinese New Year to celebrate the Year of the Tiger!

2022 is the year of the Tiger. If you were born in 1950, 1962, 1974, 1986, 1998, 2010, this is your year! (If you would like to know more about the zodiac sign story or info, please refer to the links on the bottom of this page)

Due to the recent Covid-19 outbreak, we’re unable to have celebrations on campuses as what we did  last year, so we have created some fun photo competitions and a lucky draw to celebrate this year of the tiger.

Get creative and be in to win a super cute soft tiger toy or an ‘Annual Family Pass’ from Auckland Zoo. *All students and staff are welcome to join.

Photo Competition (either join one or both) – You can show us how you understand Lunar New Year (Chinese New Year) or how you want to celebrate this new year with tiger elements.

  • Competition 1. Decorate your home
  • Competition 2. Dress up yourself/kid(s)/pet(s)

The winner of each competition will win a soft tiger toy from Auckland Zoo, and one among of the winners will also have chance to win an ‘Annual Family Pass’forAuckland Zoo.

How to submit your entry: Send your photo (as an attachment, please do not paste into the email body) to Melody Hao (mhao@unitec.ac.nz) by 5pm on Sunday 6 February 2022.

Lucky Draw: If you or any of your close family member(s) were born in the year of tiger, please take 30 seconds to fill in this link  to participate into our lucky draw by 5pm on Sunday 6 February 2022.

One ID will be randomly draw to win a soft tiger toy form Auckland Zoo.

Winner list will be announced in the mid-January.
