Kristine Brothers has joined our Senior Leadership team. Kristine will be well known to Unitec whānau for the time she has spent working at Wairaka.
The new Finance Director is looking forward to meeting kaimahi throughout our region, as we move towards a new direction for vocational education and training in Aotearoa.
“I’m very excited (about the role). I’m passionate about education and the change it makes in people’s lives,” she says.
Born in Palmerston North, Kristine worked in the corporate sector with companies including Telecom, Tourism Holdings Limited and Beca, prior to spending the last ten years with Unitec.
“I wanted to go to a place where I could make a difference. That’s what’s kept me here. The constant change. It’s never business as usual.”
Her appointment comes at a time when financial sustainability at business division-level is a major focus in current discussions on the future shape of delivery.
“We welcome Kristine to SLT and look forward to the contribution her experience and expertise will make to the team,” says Region One Executive Director Peseta Sam Lotu-Iiga.
The Finance Team’s priorities in the short-to-medium term will be on Budget 2025, ensuring people and processes are aligned throughout the region, as well as providing financial insights to leadership.
Fabulous appointment!
Congratulations Kristine – a great appointment supported by all of our staff.
