Digital Tools and Assistive Technology booths at Mt Albert and Waitakere

Starting this week and running until November, several ākonga, in partnership with Hamish Cosford (Assistive Technology Advisor) and Ashutosh Basnyat (Access Learning Advisor), will be staffing a booth at both Waitakere and Mount Albert campuses promoting Digital Tools and Assistive Technology. The booth will run twice weekly on Monday and Wednesday between 11 am and 1 pm.

The booth will focus on a range of technology and equipment ākonga (and staff) can implement into their studies and promote more accessible ways of engaging with software that students regularly use (e.g. Microsoft Office suite). This is an ongoing project and will slowly evolve over the coming weeks with new tools and software promoted. There will also be webinars for staff and students to attend in the coming weeks, so keep an eye out for them as they are announced at the booth.

The booths are located near the Ask Me Desk at Mount Albert, and in the Student Hub area at Waitakere.

If you have questions regarding this project, please get in touch with Hamish Cosford at hcosford@unitec.ac.nz or through Teams Chat. For more information on Assistive Technology available to students, please check out our guide at  https://guides.unitec.ac.nz/assistivetechnology

Great work Hamish and Ash! Go and check it out everyone, you might be surprised and the number of free digital tools available and the assistive technology available free to our students.
