Providing high quality printing and copying services on campus is important to ākonga and kaimahi alike, particularly those studying and teaching architecture and design.
From this week, Carl Salas (pictured right) will manage our centre alongside his lecturing responsibilities in School of Architecture. It is expected this interim arrangement will be in place for the next nine to twelve months before Unitec goes to market to find a supplier for the service.
“We are committed to retaining the provision of a copy centre on campus for students and staff,” says Dan Brady, General Manager – Operations.
“In the interim, we greatly appreciate Carl’s support who will extend a long-standing arrangement of providing full cover for the copy centre functions.”
As well as his expertise in architecture and design, Mr Salas has more than a decade of experience in the printing industry. He is also a graduate of Unitec so knows the needs of both students and teaching staff well.
“I’ve been on both sides. I’ve been a student at Unitec, and I understand their needs. So, over the next twelve months we will return the centre back to full capacity by re-introducing services and products that were offered in the past.”
New services will include printing in two large formats, a wider range of paper and more binding options.
Unitec branded merchandise such as pens, USBs, notepads, lanyards as well as school-specific branded products and clothing will again be sold from the centre.
While opening hours will remain the same, Monday to Friday, 8am-4pm.
