It was a packed house at Unitec on Wednesday 15 May for the annual Construction and Engineering Connect event. More than 200 ākonga and 24 companies took part in this week’s event and Product Marketing Business Partner for Construction Abilash Thangavel said both ākonga and employers were impressed with the large turnout.
“The ākonga were motivated by the high quality of employers who came to support them, and the good advice they were given on how to approach potential employers, prepare their CVs and get ready for entering the workforce.
There was also a broad range of age groups attending, from teenagers through to adults in their late forties, which is reflective of the diverse nature of Unitec construction and engineering ākonga.”
Connect events are a regular part of the Unitec school calendar.
