Chinese New Year Celebration
2021 is the year of the Ox.
If you were born in 1949, 1961, 1973, 1985, 1997, or 2009, this is your year!
Please celebrate by wearing RED on Wednesday 10 February (Mt Albert) or Thursday 11 February (Waitākere). In Chinese culture, red is said to bring good fortune for the coming new year. You can also wear accessories with a Chinese cultural element.
Come along to the Chinese New Year celebration events, where you can try:
- Chinese food tasting (vegetarian food will be provided, including dumplings )
- Mandarin learning,
- Chopsticks fun (competition),
- Chinese lucky knot making,

Get creative, and be in to win a team morning tea!
The winning “Chinese New Year 2021 Best Team Photo” will receive a $50.00 morning tea voucher at either Long Black, Mt Albert campus or Gloria Jeans at Waitākere.
How to submit your entry: Send your photo (as an attachment, please do not paste into the email body) to Melody Hao by 5pm on Friday 12 February 2021.
