Browser extensions are software which can add specific functionality to your browsing experience.
Unfortunately, some browser extensions can be a method for Malware to be installed and can also be used to collect personal information from your computer.
The ability to add new extensions for Microsoft Edge, Chrome and Firefox browsers will be disabled on Friday the 15th of March.
Mendeley Web Importer and Zotero Connector are allowed and installed on new computers by default.
Current extensions will not be removed but any new extensions will not be allowed. Information Technology (IT) are currently reviewing all browser extensions installed on Staff managed computers.
If there is a browser extension that you think has a business requirement then please send a request to the IT Service Desk with the browser extension name and business requirements for review by IT.
