Join us for Diwali – Festival of Light

Indians@Unitec would like to invite you to an online Diwali celebration for 2021 which will showcase cooking shows, saree draping demos to a Diwali marketplace. Please keep an eye on the Nest for all the zoom links to the events.

Diwali celebration at Unitec has always been special. Diwali is the festival of lights, where we celebrate the victory of good over evil.  During these times, let us pray that the spirit of Diwali wins over the darkness that is currently enveloping the world.

Many events in our Mahabharata and our Puranas are related to the festival of Diwali. One of them is when Lord Rama returned to Ayodhya after completing fourteen years of exile. Everyone in the city celebrated His return by lighting lamps everywhere. There is a deeper meaning to this as well. It means that once the light of knowledge dawns from within, then there is light everywhere in the world around us. The whole world starts scintillating with the light of knowledge. To convey the unique importance of spiritual knowledge in our life, we celebrate Diwali.

We light lamps to spread light everywhere and also remind yourself that you too are a beautiful lamp and are here to spread joy and love.
