For the past several years, a collaboration of Unitec students and departments has been working on developing a carpooling app specifically for people commuting to the Unitec campuses, and now it’s almost here!
It’s no surprise that an app is needed as a Unitec travel survey found that around three-quarters of staff (74%) and 44% of students drive to Unitec, alone in their car. This is reflective of a wider transport issue – in a city built for cars, often cycling or public transport is difficult for many of us. Carpooling is realistically the next best sustainable travel option.
Now we need your help!
On 18 August, we are launching an organisation wide trial—and this is where we need your help! You can either jump on board right away and help us with beta testing or register your interest to download the app and give it a go once the trial starts.
