Forecasting your leave – planning your breaks through 2021

If you’re wondering how much leave you have left post the summer holiday closedown period, and want to plan out your next break, use the ‘forecast leave balances’ tool. This will allow you to view how much leave you have at any time in 2021.

This is a great way to map out any holiday plans well in advance and be confident you have the leave available to you.

How to forecast your leave

1. Go to Peoplesoft HR: Nest home page > Quick Links > Staff Portal > PeopleSoft HR > login > select Self-Service > Leave Balances > Forecast Balance

2. When in ‘Forecast Balance’ ensure you choose a date at the end of the leave period that you wish to forecast from e.g. to find out how much leave you’ll have once your return from the summer holiday break, select Monday 11 January 2021

As an example, in the view above, as at 11 January 2021, this person will have 89.58 Annual Leave Total (sum of Entitlement and Prorated Leave balances at that date).

Note: The system will give you the net figures meaning if there is leave entered already between now and that date, this will be deducted to give you net position.

Have you submitted your summer holiday closedown leave?

If you haven’t yet submitted your leave for our official closedown, please do this now in PeopleSoft HR. This year’s closedown will be a total of 3 weeks – our last day in the office will be Friday 18 December 2020, back on Monday 11 January 2021. This is 11 days of annual leave.

Note: Professional Development leave can not be used during the holiday close down period. If you need to work during the close down period, you will need to discuss this with your manager and get their approval.
