Microsoft Teams web app to no longer support IE 11 after November 30, 2020.
Microsoft Teams web app will no longer support Internet Explorer 11 (IE 11) after November 30, 2020. After November 30, 2020, users will be unable to access the Teams web app from IE 11 and will be notified to use the desktop app or access the web app from Microsoft Edge or another supported browser e.g. Chrome, Firefox.
Note: Unitec IT recommends the use of the Teams desktop app. If you need to install the Teams desktop app, please see instructions below.
New Office 365 feature: daily ‘Briefing’ email from Cortana
The Briefing email helps you stay in control of your calendar and are designed to help users prepare for their meetings and tasks, as well as find suggested focus times for the day. Within the first two hours of your workday (as set up in Outlook), you’ll get an email about any relevant items to help you better prepare for the day ahead.
Note: The customized email is only available to individual end users; no administrator, manager, or user can see another individual’s Briefing email. All data is stored inside the user’s mailbox.

- When will Briefing start?
- Answer: Unitec will enable Briefing at the end of November. A notice will be placed on theNest closer to the date.
- What will the email look like?
- Answer: The daily briefing email will appear in the Inbox with Cortana as the Sender and the subject “Your daily briefing”.
- Can I opt-out of receiving these emails?
- Answer: Yes. If you no longer wish to receive the briefing email, you have two ways to opt-out:
- by selecting Unsubscribe, located near the bottom of the briefing email
- login to your account at https://cortana.office.com/briefing and click the Unsubscribe button
- What does the Briefing email look like?
- Answer: Depending on the email client you are using, you may see different versions of this emails – adaptive or html version.
- What will the Briefing email contain?
- Answer: Depending on if you use the Adaptive or HTML version, the Briefing email includes the following sections:
- Prepare for today’s meetings
- Tasks you need to follow up on
- Make the most of your focus time (Adaptive version only)
- How often does the email come?
- Answer: One time per workday (as set in Outlook) when you have actions needed to prepare for a meeting or in response to an email. The email is not sent when you have no actionable items.
