Wellbeing and Safety

Kaupapa / Purpose

To provide guidance and expertise that will help us achieve our wellbeing and safety vision: ‘Our people are safe and well, and feel valued, included and optimistic.’

To work with ākonga/learners, kaimahi/staff and others on strengthening our wellbeing and safety processes and practices.

Workplace wellbeing and safety is everyone’s responsibility.  Collectively, we can ensure we send everyone home safe and well at the end of each day by:

  1. Taking reasonable care of our own wellbeing and safety
  2. Ensuring that our acts or omissions do not adversely affect the wellbeing and safety of others
  3. Live Unitec’s Kaupapa through the values framed by living Te Noho Kotahitanga
  4. Acting in accordance with Unitec part of Te Pūkenga’s policies, procedures and guidelines

Our role is to engage, educate, provide support and promote safe work practices so that everyone who comes to work, goes home safely.
