Whakawhiwhi Tāpiripiri | Additional AwardsIn some cases students may wish to leave their parent programme of study early and have their achievement recognised through the award of an alternative qualification. This is known as an exit award. A milestone award that recognises achievement at a certain point within their larger programme of study and is often associated with professional accreditation requirements for continuation into practicum or practice. In all cases, the availability of these additional awards will be noted in the Programme Regulations for the parent programme. Exit AwardFrom time to time a student may, for a variety of reasons, wish to exit the Programme in which they are currently enrolled (Parent) before they have completed it. For some of these students there may be an option for them to be awarded a different Programme that recognises their study achievement in their original Programme up to the point that they chose to exit (Child) . An exit award will not be awarded to any Student who has, at the time of application for the award or at the time of the award, enrolled in future semesters for any Course which is part of the Qualification. Milestone AwardA Milestone Award is a Qualification that may be awarded to a Student prior to the Student having completed the Programme he or she is currently enrolled in and which he or she intends to complete. They are generally related to professional accreditation requirements and may be required by a student prior to them being able to engage in practice based learning that forms part of their main programme.
