They are the ‘engine room’ of academic quality and they deal with the governance aspects of programme quality assurance, with the aim of continuous improvement. Te Komiti o ngā Hotaka | Programme Academic and Quality Committee maintains relationships and interactions with other committees at Unitec to ensure information is shared and accountabilities are maintained. The committee employs evidence-based action planning and execution to deliver continuous improvement and maintains records of its own level academic decision making. PAQC members include the Head of School, APMs, programme staff and student representatives. PAQCs report to Te Poari Whai Kounga | Quality Alignment Board (QAB). |

Each of these delegations allows either the sub-committee or the individual to undertake activities on behalf of the PAQC. Sometimes these delegations will have full powers to make decisions on behalf of the PAQC, or they may be set-up to advise the PAQC who will have the final say. Terms of Reference for all delegated authority is recorded in the minutes of each PAQC to ensure that there is a record of the delegation. Delegated authority may be established for: Admission, Enrolment and Selection of Students Assessment and award of Credit Recognition Approval of Grades for courses Consideration and approval of Affected Performance Consideration (APC) applications Programme Completions & Eligibility for Graduation Consideration and endorsement of applications for Programme Development and Improvements |
