Unitec Excellence Awards: Nominations close this Friday!

Have you nominated an outstanding individual or team for our Unitec Excellence Awards – Ngā Tohu Kairangi o Wairaka 2019?

Talk with your colleagues about who you’ve enjoyed working with, who has consistently exceeded expectations, and who has shown outstanding commitment to Unitec…and nominate those people and teams!

Nominations close at 5pm, Friday 1 November, so you only have a few days left; just 300 words is all it takes to highlight your nominee’s contribution.

If you haven’t taken a look at the Nest page yet, here’s the list of categories and link to the nomination form:

  • Excellence in support: An individual in a support role who either supports our staff with systems and processes, or supports teachers to deliver education to our students, or directly supports students in their journey at Unitec.
  • Innovation and Enterprise Award: An individual or team that has demonstrated innovation and/or enterprise. Open to all staff.
  • Te Noho Kotahitanga Team Award: A team that has demonstrated excellence and has lived our values throughout the year. Open to all teams.
  • Unitec Champion Award: An individual who has demonstrated all-round excellence and contribution. Open to all staff.

Teaching and research:

  • Excellence in Teaching: An experienced teacher, who has demonstrated excellence in their teaching for over five years.
  • Kaupapa Māori: A teacher who has demonstrated excellence in tertiary teaching in a Kaupapa Māori context, for over five years.
  • Excellence in Early Career Teaching: An individual teacher who has been teaching for up to five years.
  • Excellence in Research: An experienced or early career researcher or research team that has demonstrated excellence in their research for over five years.

The Awards event will be held on Thursday 5 December. Let’s make sure those people who have shone this year are celebrated for their outstanding work.

    Could you confirm that the excellence in teaching award is open for nomination of teams? The text above mentions only individuals, but the nomination form allows for teams
    many thanks
