Our Career Development team recently organised a Volunteer Expo in Te Puna, to show our staff and students some of the opportunities for volunteering in our community. It was their biggest Volunteer Expo to date, with 21 community organisations sharing their work and discussing with guests the volunteer roles available, and the benefits of volunteering.

Dianna Bluck, Career Development Consultant in our Learning and Development team said there was a really great vibe in Te Puna.

“A big thank you goes out to everyone involved including our Unitec whānau and our Student Connectors who volunteered on the day – without them, the event could not be possible.  We know that Volunteering contributes to our students developing skills and confidence. Feedback indicates it was a worthwhile event with students and staff signing up on the day.” said Dianna.

Attending organisations are listed below and there are many more that would appreciate more volunteers. If you’ve been thinking about volunteering for a cause that’s close to your heart, contact your local organisation, and encourage our students to do the same!
