Subway arriving in Te Puna

In an exciting addition to our food outlets in Te Puna, Subway will shortly move in next to Nuri Maru (the Japanese café).

Subway offers sandwiches, wraps and salads, all tailor-made to your preferences and will be a valuable option for staff and students alongside our established outlets, Long Black, Nuri Maru and Breaktime.

Contractors will begin the fit-out of the new Subway store this month, so it’ll be up and running very soon.

Yes finally! Have missed Subway since they left the Squash Centre next to the Gym. Glad they’re coming back.

This is fantastic news for our students as their pricing for meals are at a reasonable rate and their specials are very good. Well done Unitec!!

Thanks all for the great feedback. Hoardings will be up later this week! Watch this space!

It will be good to have another food option and I do like Subway however working in Te Puna is sometimes challenging when the cooking odours wafting from Nuri Maru are very strong and adding Subway to that mix is a worry. When we moved into this space we were assured the cooking odours would not be a problem due to extractor fans however some days the smells are an issue.

Thanks Donna. We will need specifics to be able to follow up and find out the source of the issue(days/times etc). Given that Te Puna is our central student space we will always have a mix of things to deal with in order to provide a great central facility so appreciate the feedback.
