Volunteers wanted: Free stress treatment

Have you been feeling stressed out recently?

We are looking for 20 volunteers (10 females and 10 males) aged 18 years or older to participate in a study on The effects of a proposed therapy package on physiological and perceived stress in females and males: A pilot study.

This study will involve 20 participants (10 females and 10 males) who will be required to visit Clinic 41 at Unitec, on two occasions.

The first visit will take about 60 minutes and is designed take stress level baselines and undergo 30 minutes of the general osteopathic techniques and 10 minutes of stress management education. The second and final session (48-72 hours after session 1) will take around 50 minutes and will involve 30 minutes of general osteopathic techniques and 10 minutes of stress management education.

You should only volunteer for the study if you are willing to commit to attend all of the two sessions.

You should not volunteer for the study if you have diabetes, heart conditions, any known chronic inflammatory condition, cancer, breathing difficulties, presence of oral disease, any known musculoskeletal conditions and current use of steroidal medications (other than vitamins).

    I am keen, I have lots of stress in my shoulders and neck I’m willing to donate to research.
