We’re now underway with some big moves which impacts predominantly our Support Services teams, re-locating them to B110 – the ‘Wagener Library and Resource Centre’ building. These moves are part of our campus consolidation approach and our plan to bring as many of our Support Services teams together into one place by the end of November. We are also required under the terms of our land sale to relinquish various parts of Mt Albert campus within specific time frames. By the end of this year, we need to have vacated the area from gate 3 north to Taylors and the old horticulture land. This will impact a few other teams over the next two months including the Sport department and Supported Learning. Recent moves
Upcoming moves Business Intelligence, Corporate Communications, TPA, ELT, Human Resources, Finance, Marketing, Commercial Services, Partnerships, Finance, TKK, Graduation, Supported Learning, Sport and Osteopathy
Re-refurbishment is still underway and meeting rooms are not yet furnished so please plan any meetings outside of the Wagener – Te Puna is your closest option or check Outlook for alternatives. Please also note that the Wagener is open just to staff who are currently located in the building while the refurbishments are underway, movers are delivering and setting up furniture, and IMS is also there working on the tech set up. This means there are various health and safety requirements in place, so access must be limited. If you do want to check out your new space before you move in, please ask you team leader to contact Erin Hughesto organise a suitable time.
We’ll keep you posted on the timing of the upcoming moves as they happen. These moves all focus on central areas of the campus where we have a shorter time to vacate the land, versus other parts of the campus. |
Wilfred ‘Wilf’ Wagener Founding Chairman – Carrington Technical Institute The Wagener Library and Resource Centre was a special tribute to Wilf Wagener, the founding Chairman of Carrington Technical Institute. It was officially opened by his Excellency the Governor-General, Sir Paul Reeves on 4 November 1988. Wagener was recognised as a leader and innovator in education, and for helping others to succeed. His awareness of the value of education and his concern for under-privileged students reflects the difficult start many of his generation experienced as a result of the economic depression in the 1930s. |
