Haere mai! Te wiki o te Reo Māori – we’re celebrating Māori Language Week, 10-16 Mahuru 2018

We’re celebrating with several special events that will give you the opportunity to strengthen your te reo, which reflects this year’s theme; Kia Kaha te Reo Māori – Let’s make the Māori language strong!

So come along and join in. There’s opportunities to get involved at both Mt Albert campus and Waitakere. We’ve got something for everyone from games to performance plus a chance to show off your writing skills. There are prizes too and you can get underway now, by getting started on your Mahi Tito – see Thursday’s listing below.

Monday 10 September
  • We’re opening Te Wiki o te Reo Māori at our regular Mt Albert and Waitakere campus all staff Monday morning Hui (but note change of venue for the Mt Albert hui). There’ll be a karakia (prayer) and pānui (notices), but it’s also an opportunity for you to share what’s on your mind. Both staff and students are welcome to our kick-off for Te Wiki o te Reo Māori. Tuesday 11 September

Patai mai mō te inu me te Kai – How to ask for a drink and food in Māori. Good skills to learn and practice – get a free drink using your te reo!
